WEBINAR: Trade Barriers in Atlantic Canada

NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

Atlantic Canada’s small market is fragmented by differing provincial standards and regulations, placing its businesses at a disadvantage to those in other provinces. Over 50% of delegates to the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC)’s recent business Outlook conference indicated that reducing regulatory barriers should be the top priority for governments to support business growth.

Why is this issue so important to the Atlantic region?
APEC’s recently-released report, Trade Barriers in Atlantic Canada: Opportunities for Regulatory Reform, highlighted the importance of interprovincial trade to Atlantic Canada and the costs of trade barriers facing Atlantic firms. It also identified numerous opportunities to reform the regulatory environment to reduce the burden on firms and strengthen the region’s economy.

On Tuesday December 13 at 10 a.m. (AST), APEC’s Director of Research, David Chaundy, the report’s author, will host a one-hour webinar for Atlantic business, government and regulatory leaders highlighting the report’s main findings and recommendations.

This webinar is a must for any business person in Atlantic Canada hoping to reduce red tape and costs associated with doing business in other provinces, and for government and policy experts looking for ways to support business growth.
