WEBINAR: Knowledge Mobilisation in Community

On May 2nd, you are invited to join us in a webinar discussion on Knowledge Mobilisation, hosted by Dr. Rajesh Tandon in conjunction with the Community-based Research Capacity Building Network (established to build capacity up to CU Expo and beyond). There is no fee for participation, however RSVP is required.

UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education & President of the Society for Participatory Research in Asia

Dr. Rajesh Tandon is co-director of the UNESCO Chair on Community-based Research (CBR) and Social Responsibility in Higher Education. He is the co-founder and President of the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), based in New Delhi. Over the last 30 years, with his leadership, PRIA has been working towards the empowerment of the poor and marginalized so that they can collectively claim their rights and organize for self-reliant development. Dr. Tandon is a pioneer of innovative methodologies in participatory research, participatory planning, monitoring, and evaluation. He was awarded the ‘Doctor of Laws’ from the University of Victoria in recognition of his pioneering work in the area of civic engagement, governance and CBR. He has provided leadership on the Governing Boards of dozens of national and international civil society organization’s; served as President of the Asia and South Pacific Basic & Adult Education Association, Vice-President of International Council of Adult Education; and has founded numerous organizations including CIVICUS, the International Forum of Capacity Building of Southern NGOs, and FimForum for Democratising Global Governance. His expertise has been sought by UNDP, World Bank, UNICEF, UNV, WHO, ILO among others, and has served on numerous Government committees in India. Dr. Tandon contributes frequently to scholarly journals, practitioner manuals, and audio-visuals on a wide range of themes including participatory research, people-centered development, civil society, democratic governance, and active citizenship.
