A team from St. John’s has made it to the Top 10 of the CanInfra Challenge and are heading to Toronto to make their final pitch for the best transformational national infrastructure project.
Their project is called IceGrid and is a proposal to replace dirty fossil fuel plants with modern wind turbines and battery grids. Their projections show the potential for northern off grid communities to save hundreds of millions of dollars with this scalable approach.
