We here at NEIA are face and eyes into Newleef 2017 planning and organization. Sometimes we lift our heads long enough to microwave a burrito and take a few minutes to make sure we’re all on track for what is looking to be the most anticipated Newleef to date, with some high energy sessions, amazing speakers and intriguing presentations lined up!
I wanted to take a minute to throw up a blog, to help support Kieran’s blog on the Newleef 2017 website. He’s highlighted some of the speakers and presentations over on that blog but I’ll use this opporunity to talk about some of the other presentations. I’ll also talk a little bit more about the road to NEIA’s 2-day conference on October 11th and 12th.
First of all, We were lucky to have a great group of partners come on board for this year’s conference and I’d like to give them all a quick mention here, thanking each of them for supporting NEIA and our continuous effort to support the growth and development of clean technology and our provinces green economy. Our Gold level partners are:
and our silver partners:
And last but not least, our Bronze partners:
Of course, NEIA would also like to recognize the support of The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) for their continued support in all of NEIA’s initiatives each year in operation!
Segue into talking about the years, As most of you know NEIA is celebrating it’s 25th year in operation and with that, a mandate to support entrepreneurs and start-ups in the environmental and clean technology sector. We’ve been working hard to develop relationships with organisations in the start-up ecosystem (our friends at The Genesis Center, Memorial Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE), Common Ground Coworking and more!) to learn how NEIA can better support entrepreneurs and provide a path for them to succeed. This year at Newleef we are hosting a session (and what I’m personally the most excited for) on Starting Up: The Journey of New Clean Tech Firms. This panel discussion will feature Joshua Green from Mysa, Dr. Sizwe Dhlamini with Power HV Inc. and Andrew Cook with Seaformatics. The session will also be moderated by Michelle Simms, President and CEO, Genesis Centre.
The evening of Wednesday the 11’th (the first day of Newleef) please join us at The Fifth Ticket for a social in celebration of NEIA’s 25 years in operation. Tickets are included with your Newleef registration – food will be served, drinks will be poured and let the real “networking” begin! Come party with us and the rest of the attendees!
We are only 10 (yes, say it out loud, 10!) days from Newleef 2017 – the excitement is building and the buzz is growing! Marketing materials are being printed, final touches being put on the agenda and presentations, Coffee is steadily being poured. We can’t wait to see all of you there and enjoy these two days with us, celebrating the leaders in clean technology in our province and in Canada. Don’t be that person who’s all like “I should have gotten a ticket, because i heard it was awesome!”
