Call for Abstracts

The Real Property Institute of Canada (RPIC) will host a forum for federal managers and remediation specialists to learn about Sustainable Assessment (SA) and Sustainable Planning (SP) in the contaminated sites field. The Workshop will offer a unique opportunity to meet and exchange new ideas and information with colleagues and industry representatives from across the country and abroad. The 2013 RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites Regional Workshop is the second in a planned series of biennial regional workshops scheduled on off-years from the highly acclaimed RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop.

RPIC invites you to submit abstracts and presentations on Sustainable Planning and Sustainable Assessment related to contaminated sites. Abstracts are encouraged in, but not limited to the following sustainable planning and assessment categories:

  • Principles, tools and practices for sustainable planning in contaminated sites assessment or remediation/risk management projects
  • Regulatory drivers and guidance in support of sustainability
  • Sustainable approach to technology selection
  • Sustainable sampling techniques or tools
  • Sustainability: a necessity for tackling contaminated sites in remote sites
  • Case studies and lessons learned on best practices in sustainable site assessment work
  • Procurement approaches to foster sustainable projects
