On November 25th NEIA and ADIANL are co-hosting a session on doing business in the environmental, defence and security sectors in Turkey.
Speakers will discuss business culture in the region, and possible opportunities for Newfoundland and Labrador firms looking to enter the market.

Ms. Hatice Murphy, a Turkish-American based in Washington metropolitan area, brings more 20 years of economic and business development experience in domestic and international markets in emerging markets. Ms. Murphy was responsible for developing the marketing efforts of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority in new markets such as Canada, Israel, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America, and the Middle East. Ms. Murphy led over 60 investment missions into Canada, Israel, Turkey and Australia and has organized and hosted numerous inward missions to the United States. She developed, and implemented partnership seminars such as “Doing Business with Systems Integrators and Federal Government Seminars” for the companies in these countries. She has provided market entry strategic advice, held informational seminars, partnering seminars, has led 70 trade mission, both in-bound and out-bound, identified investors, and has worked with the business community in key markets to develop partners and commercialization opportunities for those with unique technologies. She has led several, very successful trade missions to Turkey and to the Middle East, with companies in defense, IT, cyber security, and telecommunications. Currently, Hatice is very involved with several Turkish trade organizations, working to promote bi-lateral trade with Turkey and the United States.
Ms. Murphy holds a BA in Economics and an MBA from George Mason University. Ms. Murphy is the Chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s International Committee, and was former Program Chair for this organizations Business to Government Committee. She is a member of the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Associations. Ms. Murphy serves on the boards of several trade and business associations, and is a member of all significant business and trade organizations in the country. She has travelled extensively, and has contacts throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
