PEGNL now accepting nominations for its Environmental Award

PEGNL is now accepting nominations for its annual Environment Award to be announced at its Annual General Meeting on June 14, 2013. Nominations should be received by Friday March 15, 2013 and may be directed to Kevin Power at kevin.power@ec.gc.ca or to Leo White at lwhite@pegnl.ca. If possible a nomination should include a brief (5 minute) video or a 10 picture slide show of the project or nomination subject. This is to be used for promotion purposes only and nominations without the video or slides are still acceptable. The PEGNL Environment Award
The purpose of the PEGNL Environment Award is to recognize organizations and/or individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador that have contributed to making a healthier environment in the Province through the application or promotion of science and technology within the professions of engineering and geoscience. Some examples of categories to be considered include, but are not limited to:
- Research, technology development, advancement or innovation
- Material and energy efficiency
- Promotion through public awareness/education
- Policy/regulatory instrument development
- Business/government/community stewardship/leadership
Eligibility
All Newfoundland and Labrador organizations and individuals practicing engineering and geoscience are eligible to be considered for this award. Nominations for the award may come from a group or individual in the general public in association with a PEGNL member and/or firm.
