OPEN INNOVATION CHALLENGE: Wind Turbine Blade Circular Design Challenge

NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

Vestas is the energy industry’s global partner on sustainable energy solutions, and a leading manufacturer and provider of wind turbines across the globe – and with +117 GW of wind turbines in 81 countries, they have installed more wind power than anyone else.

And now, they are looking to source two innovative solutions from Canadian SMEs that will help them achieve their sustainable development goals.

Challenge 1 – Turbine Blade Circular Design, Materials

  • Advanced solutions/materials that can be used in Vestas’ next-generation wind turbine blades that will be fully recyclable at end-of-life
  • Solutions that align with Vestas’ sustainability strategy goal of having zero-waste wind turbines by 2040.

Challenge 2 – Turbine Blade Circular Design, Decommissioning

  • Solutions for separating materials in decommissioned wind turbine blades
  • Solutions for making the separated recycled materials applicable for relevant industry

If you have a commercially viable, innovative solution for the next generation of fully-recyclable wind turbine blades, then we’d like to hear from you!

Register today for this upcoming webinar, where we’ll review additional details about the challenge’s criteria, eligibility, and requirements and answer any questions you have about this opportunity.
