Occupational Diseases in the Workplace: How to Protect Yourself
NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

“We recognize that occupational disease prevention is a complex issue worldwide.”
In this regard, the Workplace Health, Safety, and Compensation Commission has been implementing an occupational disease prevention strategy for Newfoundland and Labrador with a strong emphasis on worker protection from known agents that cause illness and disease.
Workers can be exposed to a number of health hazards in their work environment or during the course of their employment. It is important that workers and employers recognize a variety of known
biological, chemical, and physical agents that are present in work environments and implement control measures to mitigate the effects of these agents on their health.
Please join us for an interactive educational session on occupational disease prevention. The workshop will be facilitated by Commission staff including an industrial hygienist, epidemiologist and a medical officer.
