NEIA members invited to discuss adoption of the 2011 National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) in NL

As a member of a the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association, you are invited to participate in a consultation process to examine the case for adopting the 2011 National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Provincial Government committed to examine the case for adopting this code in its 2011 Energy Efficiency Action Plan. Significant technical work has been completed to understand the costs and benefits of adopting this code and consultation sessions are now being held to solicit stakeholders’ views on code adoption. Specifically, the Provincial Government is soliciting views on the costs and benefits of adopting the NECB, as well as options for code administration and approaches to enhance skills and training, should the code be adopted.
Consultation Session for the Business Community
An in-person consultation session for the business community is being held on July 28, 2015 (9:00am – 12:00pm) in St. John’s and an online consultation session is being offered on August 4, 2015 (1:00pm – 3:00pm). If you would like to attend one of these sessions, please RSVP by July 20, 2015.
The attached discussion document (click here) has been prepared to guide this consultation process. Individuals attending a session are asked to review this document in advance. If you are unable to attend a session, you are encouraged to provide written feedback on the issue to the Office of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.
