NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

NATI, in partnership with the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador (BTCRD), and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), invites eligible NL companies and organizations to participate in a proposed upcoming outbound mission to Brazil, scheduled to take place the week of June 21-27th, 2015.

The project will contract an experienced matchmaker to assist with the arrangement of business to business meetings, providing translation services for meetings where required, and supporting the overall coordination of the mission. Support for the participants will be in keeping with the needs of such a mission, including: visa assistance, itinerary advice and secure hotel block bookings for each city, meeting space facilitation in each location, accompaniment and translation services where required for meetings, and direct Consulate support through DFATD’s network of Consulate offices located throughout the country.

The delegation will visit three (3) locations within the country for site visits and qualified business to business meetings. The delegation will visit the following destinations during the week in Brazil:

  • Rio de Janeiro
  • Macaé
  • Santos/São Paulo

The project will also provide participating companies with access to a Brazilian-based law firm, experienced in assisting Canadian companies doing business in this market, for advisory legal services on an individual company basis.

Proposed Schedule: June 21st to 27th, 2015:

  • June 22nd: Travel to Macaé from Rio de Janeiro
  • June 24th: Return to Rio de Janeiro from Macaé, fly to São Paulo
  • June 25th: Travel to Santos from São Paulo
  • June 26th: Return to São Paulo
  • June 27th: Return Home

Mission participation will include access to:

  • In-market matchmaker/consultant;
  • Legal advisory services (pre & post mission);
  • Dedicated meeting space in each destination;
  • Assistance with visa application process, itinerary advice and secure hotel room block bookings for the delegation.
  • Group ground transport by bus between Rio de Janeiro and Macaé, and between Santos and São Paulo

Participation Fee: $1,500 participation fee per company/organization.

Participants are responsible for the cost of round trip airfare, accommodation and meals. Eligible companies may apply to the provincial Government’s Business Development Support Program for travel cost support, through the Department of Business, Tourism, Culture & Rural Development (BTCRD).
