Sheraton Hotel, 115 Cavendish Square, St. John’s

On February 5, Canada’s Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Scott Vaughan, released a report raising questions about Canada’s preparedness for a major oil spill. Join the Harris Centre for a public discussion about the oil spill risks in our offshore, and what is being done to prevent a major spill and to prepare for the worst case scenario.

The forum will feature presentations and discussion with an expert panel:

Scott Vaughan, Federal Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development
Max Ruelokke, CEO, Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board
Dr. Bill Montevecchi, Professor of Biology, Psychology, and Ocean Sciences, Memorial University

Free admission. A reception will follow. This event will be webcast live. For more information, or to watch the live webcast on February 21, visit: www.mun.ca/harriscentre.
