Evolving the Strategy: Marine renewables in the age of electrification
Each year, Marine Renewables Canada holds a two-day conference, bringing together its members, government, academia, and other industry to discuss current marine renewable energy activities and needs for the sector in Canada.
Globally, the marine renewable energy industry is moving from a focus on development and deployment of single devices to a focus on developing projects at a scale that will grow a value chain, contribute to a clean electricity mix, and create new and enduring economic opportunities. With some of the most abundant marine renewable energy resources in the world, continued innovation and R&D, and a tradition in offshore and marine industries, Canada has built a foundation to advance its marine renewable energy sector to this next phase of development.
The annual conference attracts members of the Canadian and international sector with representation from leading device and project developers, researchers, government, financial institutions, and the marine/energy supply chain.
This year, the annual conference will take place in the hub of Canada’s marine renewable energy sector – Nova Scotia. Along with the main conference, a series of networking events, meetings, and workshops will be planned, as well as a pre-conference research session.
