Manufacturing is vital to Newfoundland and Labrador’s economy and to the prosperity and living standards of all residents of this province. Manufacturing directly accounted for 2.7% of provincial GDP in 2013. While this figure appears small, the indirect impacts run far deeper as manufacturing has the largest economic multiplier of any industry – $3.15 for every dollar in total output. Newfoundland and Labrador manufacturers sold $6.3 billion in goods in 2013, employed over 12,000 residents generating $667 million in salaries and wages, and accounted for $4.3 billion in exports.
Firms interested in participating in either of these roundtables can contact Abbie Lacey at abbie@neia.org.
