Petroforma was incorporated in 2008 to accommodate the needs of the rapidly expanding oil and gas industry in Atlantic Canada. Without a capable laboratory in the region, corporations were enlisting the help of laboratories in Alberta, Houston, and even the United Kingdom. With expensive transportation fees and long turn-around times, many businesses were searching for a more efficient alternative and we responded to their request.
Petroforma Laboratories are conveniently located on the edge of the North Atlantic, bringing analytical and field services closer to the source than ever before. With clients spanning every industry, they have become the largest commercial laboratory and the first of its kind, in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Petroforma has recently moved into a large 10,000 Sq. Foot Facility in Paradise, Newfoundland to better accommodate their clients and bring all their staff under one functioning, purpose built roof. This was a big transition from two former locations where they have been operating for the past nine years, in St. John’s.
Petroforma consists of four main analytical facilities, including laboratories for oil and gas, microbiology, toxicology, and water testing. Within each of these labs they offer a wide range of laboratory services. Petroforma’s focus is keeping these services local and more cost effective for their clients, while also keeping Newfoundland and Labardor’s economy in focus.
