Reporting to the WNLDC’s Board of Directors, the program coordinator is responsible for coordinating strategic planning and managing operations of the co-operative’s projects. Responsibilities will include marketing & sales and development of merchant relationships; planning, organizing and overseeing production of non-timber forest products; evaluating and arranging product shipping; project evaluation and identifying strategic areas for improvement and expansion; and performing other duties as required.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess experience in program management. Knowledge of non-timber forest product/natural resource development in Newfoundland and Labrador, and issues associated with rural business development are critical. Candidates should possess organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills, the ability to work independently and take initiative. The successful candidate will have knowledge of business planning and proposal writing and a demonstrated ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. Supervisory experience is an asset. These qualifications would normally have been acquired through the completion of a university degree supplemented by experience in program development and co-ordination. Equivalencies may be considered. Must have valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle; extensive regional travel (Western NL-Northern Peninsula) required. Must be EI eligible.
