Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in St. John’s, NL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Involved in coordinating, completing and reviewing environmental and socioeconomic studies (baseline, modelling, monitoring)
  • Involved in the planning and completion of Environmental Assessments (EAs) for proposed development projects in various industry sectors (mining, electricity, oil and gas and others)
  • Preparation of proposals, EAs and other environmental study reports and other documents, including associated research, analysis and report writing
  • Leading or participating in field collections in offshore and / remote areas
  • Collaboration with other Amec Foster Wheeler staff and offices on projects, particularly for larger multi-disciplinary assignments

Skills / Qualifications

  • University graduate (preference for Masters or above) in environmental studies or related disciplines with considerable related work experience
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English), as well as strong organizational abilities, with the capability to concurrently manage and deliver several assignments on time and on budget
  • Experience in scientific study design and statistical analysis
  • Direct experience in the completion of EAs, including the planning and writing of such assessments as part of interdisciplinary EA teams
  • Highly versatile – able to apply skills in a team or self-directed environment and on a variety of projects
