February 11, 2013, Washington, D.C.
The Government of Canada is offering growth-oriented Canadian companies an opportunity to present to and connect with investors, corporations, entrepreneurs and other potential partners throughout the United States, all without leaving the office.
A new Internet program, InnovationScan, will enable companies to deliver targeted presentations to potential business partners, and connect with interested parties. The website will be promoted by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service in multiple markets across the U.S., and will showcase innovative Canadian companies from start-ups to medium sized organizations in the following sectors:
- IT & Communications
- Biotechnology & Life Sciences
- Renewable Energy & Cleantech
- Security & Defence
- Emerging Technologies
Presenters will provide the following material on their company and technology for use on the website:
- An elevator pitch (text)
- A fact-sheet (PDF)
- A Power Point
- A 5-minute video (“talking-head”)
This is a new and valuable opportunity for Canadian companies. We encourage those interested in participating to visit www.connect2canada.com/innovationscan. Make certain to click on the “Showcase Your Company” link for the application form and for more information. Due to the anticipated strong interest in this program, it is recommended to submit the application as soon as possible.
The deadline for initial applications is April 5, 2013. Note that the company presentations currently on the website are examples for demonstration purposes only – the site will go live to U.S. contacts in May, 2013.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade is offering this platform to innovative Canadian companies and organizations as part of its multi-channel service delivery and does not charge a fee for this service.
