INFO SESSION: Doing Business in Nunavut

The Ocean Technology and Arctic Opportunities branch of the Department of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development (BTCRD) is responsible for the development and implementation of the Provincial Government’s Arctic Opportunities Initiative, aimed at promoting economic development and positioning Newfoundland and Labrador as the path to the Arctic. In keeping with the goals and objectives of this initiative, the branch has recently contracted for In-Market Professional Support in Nunavut with Aarluk Consulting of Iqaluit, Nunavut. The objective of this contract is to identify and facilitate opportunities for Newfoundland and Labrador stakeholders in Nunavut. Mr. Ron Ryan, lead consultant with Aarluk, will be in St. John’s next week to meet with local stakeholders, participate in the Northern Exposure conference, and identify local interest in pursuing opportunities in Nunavut.
On Thursday, January 29th at 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., BTCRD, in collaboration with Oceans Advance, is sponsoring a presentation on “Doing Business in Nunavut” that will provide an overview of the territory and possible opportunities.
