Green Job funding through the United Nations Association in Canada

PLACEMENT LENGTH AND DETAILS
- 8 to 16-week work integrated learning placements in Canada’s Green Economy, 30-37.5 hours/week. Participants can be students, including co-op students.
- Green Spaces placements are primarily related to the Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development
PLACEMENT CYCLE START/END
- Sept. 1, 2019 to February 27, 2020
SUBSIDY DETAILS
- 50% of wage, based on total wage of $17.11; UNA-Canada’s contribution is maximum of $8.55/hour (organizations can pay more than $17.11, but UNA-Canada’s contribution would cap out at $8.55/hour), and
- An additional 11.232% of the above-mentioned wage subsidy that contributes towards Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs), which are CPP, EI, and vacation pay
PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY
- Between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of intake/selection
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada;
- Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
- Can be a student!
EMPLOYER ELIGIBILITY
- Not-for-profit organizations
- Municipal governments
- Provincial and territorial governments, institutions, agencies and Crown Corporations
- Aboriginal organizations (including band councils, tribal councils and self-government entities)
- For-profit organizations
- Post-secondary institutions or research labs
