Fisheries Conservation Funding Program

The Minister of Fisheries and Oceans announced the launch of the 2 year $10 million Recreational Fisheries Conservation Partnership Program (RFCPP). This 2 year National Program is designed to support recreational fisheries habitat conservation activity through partnerships with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and local recreational fishing and conservation groups interested in undertaking habitat restoration works.
The application period for the second year (2014-2015) will be November 4 – December 18, 2013. Therefore, Fisheries and Oceans in the NL region will be holding three RFCPP application orientation sessions to provide information on the program, the application process and to address any questions. The sessions will be held in the following areas:
- November 6th, 2013 at 7:00 PM – Grand Falls-Windsor
- November 7th, 2013 at 7:00 PM – Corner Brook
- November 13th, 2013 at 7:00 PM – St. John’s
Please confirm your organizations attendance including number of individuals and meeting location that you plan to attend no later than November 1st, 2013 by emailing: connie.dobbin-vincent@dfo-mpo.gc.ca. Please note that refreshments will not be provided and any expenses associated with attending this session will be the responsibility of the participant. Further details on meeting site will be provided at a later date. Please feel free to pass this information along to potential groups.
