From zoning and waste management to supporting community gardens and local food markets, municipalities have a lot on their plate and can play an important role in shaping the local food system.
This interactive session will help your town identify key food opportunities and issues in your region, connect you with hands on resources, and gather your input to inform a provincial roadmap to advance food security in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Municipalities across Canada are using a food system approach to improve health, generate economic development, address environmental sustainability, and engage communities. We will showcase examples of how municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador are working to improve the local food system, and will hear from participants about what’s happening in their region.
