To continue the ESRF’s efforts to help ensure that industry, government, and regulators have credible data to make evidence-based policy, regulatory and operational decisions, the ESRF is proposing a research program aimed at detecting, recording and evaluating the effects of offshore seismic activities on marine species.
Studies supported through this call for LOIs will focus on ‘teleost’ fish (e.g., Atlantic cod, haddock, and halibut) and zooplankton, in the southern Atlantic offshore areas (ESRF Regions 5-16).
Depending on the cost requirements of the study, successful applicants could be eligible for funding ranging from $200,000 to $3,000,000 per year, for up to four years, between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2022. The deadline for submission of LOIs is September 14th.
The purpose of the ESRF is to finance environmental and social studies pertaining to the manner in which and to the terms and conditions under which petroleum exploration, development, and production activities on frontier lands should be conducted.
