Canada-India Smart Grid Match-Making Mission, November 11-13, 2013

International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada (ISTPCanada) and SmartGrid Canada, in collaboration with Canadian partners and India’s Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) are pleased to invite you to participate in the Canada-India Smart Grid Technology Partnering Mission from November 11-13, 2013 in New Delhi, India. This event will take place in conjunction with GITA’s first annual Global Innovation and Technology Alliance Platform 2013.
This week-long program will focus on market-driven opportunities for R&D and business collaboration, in a wide spectrum of smart grid technologies, such as distribution automation, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), energy storage, and fault/loss detection technologies, among others.The goal of the mission is to help forge new partnerships between leading Canadian smart grid technology companies, utilities and researchers with potential partners from India including:
- Indian smart grid technology companies;
- Provincial utility firms that are responsible for energy generation and distribution across the country;
- Indian smart grid system integrators and solution providers; and
- World-class researchers from top research institutes and academic institutions who drive innovation in smart grid technologies.
This matchmaking mission provides the opportunity to:
- Participate in site visits and learn about existing grid technologies and market opportunities first-hand;
- Explore potential R&D and business opportunities;
- Discuss shared R&D interests, project ideas and opportunities for research collaboration; and advance existing partnerships.
Industry-led Canadian-Indian R&D teams, including those established during this matchmaking mission, may also leverage GITA-ISTPCanada joint funding for R&D collaboration leading to a commercial solution. Canadian delegates will also have the opportunity to attend GITA’s first annual Global Innovation and Technology Alliance Platform 2013 on November 13, 2013 in New Delhi. In addition, qualified Canadian companies may be eligible to receive up to 50 percent of mission travel costs from ISTPCanada. Utility firms and academic researchers are encouraged to join the mission with responsibility for their own travel costs.
