Call for Proposals – projects which aim to enhance the access, interoperability or known quality of surface based hydrometeorological data and metadata
NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.
The Network of Networks (NoN) Program is an Environment and Climate Change Canada led collaborative initiative that aims to enhance access, interoperability and known quality of hydrometeorological data in Canada. Funding for Grants & Contributions has been secured in support of projects that align with the goals of the NoN Program. Eligible projects may include:
- Adopting best practices/guidelines* in network operations and data management (data and metadata quality, exchange, access);
- Network/station evaluations (data and metadata quality);
- Enhancements to data exchange related infrastructure (data exchange);
- Enhancements to Weather Observation software (data quality);
This call focuses specifically on projects which aim to enhance the access, interoperability or known quality of surface based hydrometeorological data and metadata. There is $146,580 of available funds for the 2016-17 fiscal year and $250,000 for the 2017-18 fiscal year (in case of multi-year projects) to be awarded for this call.
To ensure that your Statement of Interest is evaluated by our committee, it must contain the following:
- Recipient name and mailing address;
- Project title;
- Project start date and end date;
- Project description and objectives;
- Project risk and mitigation;
- Funding requested (per fiscal year if multi-year project);
- Details of any previous funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Note that joint project proposal submissions with several agencies are allowed, but require a lead to be clearly identified. This lead will be responsible for allocating the funding to other participants (should the project be approved). Therefore if joint projects are submitted, the lead agency needs to ensure it has a mechanism for such funding transfers.
The deadline to submit your Statement of interest is Thursday, December 31st, 2015 at 23:59 (Pacific Standard Time).
Proposals should be submitted to the following email address: frederic.lenormand@canada.ca
