The Autumn is a busy time for business in the UK with many major industry events and sector activities taking place. The Department is seeking expressions of interest from Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) businesses and organizations wishing to explore business growth in the UK markets in September. The UK sectors offering opportunity for NL include: education, ICT/Data, aerospace & defense, oil & gas, food and beverage, arts and renewable energy.
The UK is a gateway to access the wider European markets. Similarities in the business environment such as language, political structure, cultural and legal systems contribute to doing business there and with continental Europe.
“London is still the most influential city in the world”, according to Forbes Magazine. “The future of global cities belongs to the most efficient and savvy.” Forbes ranked global cities based on levels of foreign investment attracted, concentration of corporate headquarters, business dominance, ease of air travel, financial services, technology, media power and racial diversity. “London’s unparalleled legacy as a global financial capital continues despite the reduced focus as a power centre.”
