Atlantic PIRI releases Version 3 Atlantic RBCA online training

NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

The Atlantic Partnership in RBCA Implementation (PIRI) provides Atlantic Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA) software and technical user guidance training. Atlantic RBCA training previously provided in a classroom setting was replaced with an online version on October 1, 2008. Atlantic PIRI has developed an updated version (Version 3), released on January 2, 2013.

The online version is self-paced, reinforces learning with a quiz at the end of each module, and includes participation in a Webinar session hosted by knowledgeable instructors.

What is in the Course?

The Introduction to Atlantic RBCA Version 3 online course aims to provide industry members and consultants with knowledge of the basic principles and concepts of Atlantic RBCA. In addition, it reviews the use of the Atlantic RBCA Toolkit within the Atlantic Canada regulatory context.

This online course, sanctioned by Atlantic PIRI, provides participants with an opportunity to:

  • Understand how to apply RBCA in the Atlantic Canada regulatory context.
  • Learn fundamentals of risk assessment.
  • Recognize technical aspects specific to the Atlantic RBCA model.
  • Identify approaches to soil vapour assessments.
  • Navigate the Atlantic RBCA Toolkit.
  • Review case studies.

The online course is available at a cost of $550 excluding taxes and takes approximately 15 hours to complete. It includes access to a 45-day trial of the most recent Atlantic RBCA Toolkit software.

To complement this course, Atlantic PIRI is developing a separate online course to provide training on the Ecological Receptor Screening Protocol. It will be available in 2013 at a cost of $95 excluding taxes; however, it will be available at a reduced cost to those who have previously taken the Introduction to Atlantic RBCA online course.
