APEC’s 2019 Major Projects Event

NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

APEC’s Major Projects Inventory (MPI) is a unique source of detailed intelligence and analysis on Atlantic Canada’s largest investment projects. This signature event showcases the exclusive results of the MPI. Developed through a combination of research and interviews with the principals behind the region’s largest development initiatives, the MPI is not available from any other source. The conference has become a must-attend event for leaders seeking a competitive edge when it comes to planning, forecasting, and project leads. In addition to the analysis of the 400+ projects that have the potential to reshape the region and drive economic development, the conference will feature important speakers from the construction community and presentations by APEC.

Special topic for 2019:
Meeting the future labour force needs of the construction industry – Atlantic Canada’s labour force is declining due to baby boomers retiring. This is a key issue for the construction industry as its labour force is older than most industries and workers tend to retire earlier. Underrepresented groups including Indigenous, immigrants and women can be part of the solution. However, it is not just about the number of people. Digitalization, automation and other technological advances are changing the skills required in the construction labour force. It is therefore important to ensure current and future construction workers have the skills they need. Join us for an important discussion on how the construction labour force is transforming to meet the future needs of the industry.

Major Projects 2019 is taking place in St. John’s on June 3, 2019.
