The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC) is holding its 6th annual Major Projects Event in June 2013. The event consists of two components: the annual briefing by APEC economists on the projects in this year’s Major Projects Inventory; and presentations by business leaders currently involved in these large regional projects.
The Major Projects Inventory (MPI) is an exclusive source of detailed intelligence and analysis about Atlantic Canada’s largest investment projects. The annual survey has been a mainstay of APEC’s portfolio of research for 30 years, providing valuable metrics on the investment climate in Atlantic Canada. The 2012 edition of the MPI identified over $100 billion of potential investment activity in Atlantic Canada and that figure has grown since last June. The MPI has been expanded with a pilot project that maps labour demand in Atlantic Canada, and the results of the labour demand analysis will be included in this year’s Major Projects Event.
