Kieran joined NEIA in January of 2012 in a Marketing and Communications role, which expanded in 2013 to include Policy Development. Kieran acquired a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo in 2016, and is currently pursuing an MBA in Community Economic Development at Cape Breton University. Kieran was certified in 2017 as a Business Retention & Expansion Coordinator. In 2007 Kieran completed a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University with a Major in International Business. As part of this program, Kieran studied at the Jönköping International Business School in Sweden. Kieran gained extensive policy and communications experience as the Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament in Ottawa, and mastered practical marketing skills while owning and operating a small marketing and online publishing business.
Manager of Operations
Joanne completed the Programmer Analyst (Business) diploma program at the College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s in 2001. She joined NEIA in 2002, first as a Consultant and then as Manager of Operations. In addition, Joanne has considerable experience in accounting and event management, integral skills in developing NEIA-hosted events. Joanne’s seniority with NEIA has provided her with a rich insight into the history of NEIA in relation to its members, programs and services.
Manager of International Business Development
Abbie Lacey joined NEIA as its Manager of Business Development in 2012. Abbie has completed the Diploma in International Trade from the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), and has been awarded the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP/FIBP) designation. Abbie was certified in 2017 as a Business Retention & Expansion Coordinator. She has worked diligently towards NEIA’s international business development strategy, building a series of new supports for businesses in the environmental sector, and has coordinated a series of trade missions on behalf of NEIA and its members.
Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Matt Rumboldt joined NEIA as its Marketing and Communications Coordinator in 2017. Matt acquired a certificate in Art and Design Foundations in 2007, followed by completion of the Advertising and Corporate Branding Graphic Design Program in 2010, both from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. Matt immediately began pursuing an interest in corporate branding initiatives with his own start-up graphic design company. Matt has worked with many local businesses in Toronto and St. John’s to create marketing and branding initiatives, gaining extensive experience in the field of graphic design, marketing, and corporate branding.
