NEIA regularly organizes workshops intended to inform and foster the development of sector segments through expert panel discussions, the demonstration of new capabilities, and/or the discussion of opportunities and challenges.

NEIA’s workshops have included:

  • Bio-Economy Workshop: Newfoundland and Labrador’s Forestry Innovation Day

    Save the Date for Newfoundland and Labrador’s Forestry Innovation Day on March 1, 2018 in Corner Brook, NL. Learn about the latest developments and trends in the forestry industry, including new technologies available, current and upcoming research initiatives, and potential applications to develop NL’s bio-economy.

  • Workshop: Offshore Wind – Energy Markets and Supply Chains

    On February 6, NEIA and Marine Renewables Canada are pleased to present an educational workshop on the offshore wind industry, featuring international experts on topics relating to potential energy markets for electricity generated in Canada, and the opportunities for diversification of the offshore oil and gas industry based on experiences in Norway and Scotland.

  • WORKSHOP: Preparing to Compete and Win in a Low Carbon Economy

    Starting sometime in 2018, Carbon Pricing will be mandatory across the country. Carbon Pricing will have a substantial impact on manufacturers as it challenges budgets in a fiercely competitive marketplace. Attend this workshop to learn how to effectively prepare your organization to succeed in the new low carbon economy.

  • WORKSHOP: Atlantic Canada’s Clean Technology International Business Development Strategy

    Does your firm engage in international business? Do you want to have a say in how the Atlantic Trade and Investment Growth Strategy (ATIGS) can support your company’s international business activities? We are holding a workshop on November 30th, where Consultants from Kinetic Cubed will be presenting the drafted framework for a Clean Tech International Business Strategy for Atlantic Canada.

    Newleef is Newfoundland & Labrador’s green economy conference, focusing on the products, services, technologies, policies, and innovations in the province that can help build our economy and protect, mitigate effects to, or even enhance the natural environment in the process.

  • WORKSHOP: UAV & UAS in Natural Resources Sectors

    NEIA with its partners is presenting a workshop on February 24th on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Unmanned Aerial Systems in the Natural Resources Sectors in Corner Brook. Themes for the workshop include the application of these technologies as they relate to: forestry; agriculture; energy; wildlife management / ecology; environmental monitoring; and GIS / mapping.

    newleef is Newfoundland & Labrador’s green economy conference, focusing on the products, services, technologies, policies, and innovations in the province that can help build our economy and protect, mitigate effects to, or even enhance the natural environment in the process.

  • Newleef 2015

    Newleef is Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier green economy event. An annual conference now in its fourth year, Newleef brings industry, academia, government, and the community together to discuss the growth and diversification of the province’s economy through the protection of, mitigation of effects to, or enhancement of the natural environment.

  • NEIA’s Oil Industry and the Environment Seminar (NOTES 2015)

    Taking place April 27-28, NOTES 2015 is a solutions-focused event with the intent to contribute to the increased efficiency and sustainability of the industry. With Hon. Preston Manning as its keynote speaker, the conference will feature presentations and discussion on themes ranging from environmental modelling and monitoring to the development and application of new technologies.

  • Newleef 2014

    Newleef is the Newfoundland and Labrador Economy and the Environment Forum. It is an annual conference aimed at building new relationships within the green economy in the province; strengthening existing ones; identifying business opportunities; energizing participants in the sector; and learning from one another.

It is an annual conference aimed at building new relationships within the green economy in the province; strengthening existing ones; identifying business opportunities; energizing participants in the sector; and learning from one another.

  • Canada/Norway OIL SPILL RESPONSE TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR

    In partnership with the Norwegian Oil Spill Control Association and Innovation Norway, NEIA presents the Oil Spill Response Technology Seminar on May 27th and 28th. The seminar includes presentations on subjects specific to oil spill response, including environmental monitoring systems, mechanical recovery options, in-situ burning, and more. The event also includes product demonstrations at the Marine Institute’s Holyrood Marine Base.

  • Newleef 2012

    The Newfoundland and Labrador Economy and the Environment Conference, NewLeef, is where the economy and the environment intersect. NEIA’s conference brings together experts in the field of the green economy, and those who are working within the environmental sector, to assess the projected growth opportunities against capacity and barriers in our province.
