Public Consultations Launched on Provincial Solid Waste Management Strategy Review

The province has started its public consultations around its solid waste management strategy. In the coming weeks and months, NEIA will be engaging its members to develop a comprehensive series of recommendations – stay tuned!

From the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment:

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, today announced the launch of a public consultation process related to the review of the Provincial Solid Waste Management Strategy. This is the first comprehensive review of the strategy since it was announced in 2002.

Consultation is a very important part of the review of the Provincial Waste Management Strategy. Feedback gathered during the public consultations period will provide valuable information and insight into local, regional and provincial waste management issues and be important in informing the work of the review.

A discussion guide, incorporating a questionnaire, is being used to solicit feedback, and can be accessed online through www.engageNL.ca.

Written submissions will also be accepted, and can be emailed to wastestrategyreview@gov.nl.ca.
