The Provincial Government has heard from residents who are concerned about the long-term sustainability of local governments and who have asked the Provincial Government to explore implementation of a regional government model for the province.
Changing the local governance structure in this province is a significant and challenging undertaking and any future decision-making could affect all areas of the province. As such, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is seeking public input to help inform the development of a potential regional government model for Newfoundland and Labrador.
