NRCan accepting project concepts for ‘Promoting Clean Energy for Remote Communities’

NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

As a cornerstone of its plan for climate change and clean growth, the Government of Canada has committed to reducing reliance on diesel fuel in Canada’s remote, Northern and Indigenous communities and industrial sites by supporting a transition to more sustainable energy solutions. The move towards secure, affordable and clean energy will provide both environmental benefits and economic opportunities for these communities, and will be supported by federal programming to:

  • build more resilient electricity infrastructure and diversify the generation mix;
  • demonstrate and deploy renewable energy technologies;
  • implement energy efficiency solutions and standards; and,
  • build community skills and capacity.

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is requesting information related to project concepts that promote clean energy for remote communities to reduce reliance on diesel fuel.
