Newleef 2016 a success!

Newfoundland and Labrador’s green economy conference, Newleef 2016, took place on October 12-13. Over 160 participants. 45 speakers. Over two days business owners, entrepreneurs, environmental professionals, academics, decision-makers, policy developers, and other green economy stakeholders came together to explore economic opportunities, learn about the latest local businesses and research, and discuss environmental issues with a focus on solutions.

Check out the live commentary and photography which took place at the conference by searching the Twitter hashtag #Newleef2016, or click here.

Topics ranged from offshore wind energy, to local food production, to green transportation, to local climate change strategy, to financing clean technology. You can get a full summary of the event by taking a look at the conference agenda at www.newleef.ca. Highlights included a question and answer session with the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Canada’s Minister for Public Services and Procurement – Judy Foote, and the Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture, and Rural Development Christopher Mitchelmore.

The conference – and its outcomes – would not have been possible without NEIA’s partners and the Newleef 2016 sponsors:
