Established in 1982, the NL Employers’ Council (NLEC) enables employers to present a strong collective voice on employer issues. The Employers’ Council is a vocal advocate for competitive taxes, competitive regulations, and fiscally responsible government budgets. Several recent successes– including the rescinding of card based union certification in 2014 and the reduction of employer workers’ compensation insurance premiums in 2013 – demonstrate our ability to act as an effective voice for the business community.
Currently, the organization’s key advocacy objective is to:
Affect public policy change that will make Newfoundland Labrador one of the most competitive jurisdictions in which to do business, by 2020.
