“Natural Resources Canada is pleased to announce recent additions to our energy benchmarking Web pages. As part of our ongoing mission to improve energy performance in commercial and institutional buildings in Canada, we have updated our Web site to provide Canada-specific information on energy benchmarking and to bring you up to date with the latest developments in the Canadian adaptation of ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager™.”

Benchmarking energy performance explains the need for benchmarking energy performance and provides background information on the Canadian energy benchmarking movement.

Building energy benchmarking provides a general overview of the benefits, the processes involved and common barriers to energy benchmarking.

Natural Resources Canada’s national building energy initiative highlights Natural Resources Canada’s role in the adaptation of the Portfolio Manager tool for the Canadian context.

ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager tool covers the details on Canada-specific features. This section provides step-by-step instructions on how to register and benchmark your building(s) with Portfolio Manager.

Exchanging data with Portfolio Manager focuses on the Web services available in Portfolio Manager. Learn how you can authorize utility companies, energy service providers or energy bill aggregators to exchange data automatically with Portfolio Manager.
