Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) in collaboration with provincial and territorial Ministries of Environment have been developing an Air Quality Management System (AQMS) for the management of criteria air pollutants within the country. Various components of the system have already been rolled out and more components are set to come into effect over the next couple of years. To complement this rollout, the Department has been directed to propose amendments to the Air Pollution Control Regulations, 2004, the current version of which can be found at: http://www.assembly.nl.ca/legislation/sr/regulations/rc040039.htm. In particular, direction has been provided to consider revisions to the following sections:
