Board Committees

Board Committees

NEIA’s Board of Directors has three standing committees focused on the growth and development of the green economy in Newfoundland and Labrador.

These committees, chaired and populated by NEIA’s Directors, are also open to the participation of non-Board members (at the discretion of each committee). Should you have a professional interest in participating on one of these committees, please contact us.

NEIA’s standing committees include:

Sector Development Committee

NEIA’s Sector Development Committee steers the association’s strategies to contribute to overarching green economy growth in Newfoundland and Labrador. The committee also guides NEIA’s firm-level activities as they relate to the organization’s ‘business lines’: productivity and competitiveness; innovation and commercialization; international business development; and startups and entrepreneurship.

Practitioner Training and Development Committee

NEIA’s Practitioner Training and Development Committee focuses on strategies to assist in the professional development of the workforce within Newfoundland and Labrador’s green economy. This includes leading the creation of new training programs or the facilitation of the delivery of specialized courses from a third party. Both approaches are driven by the expressed needs of NEIA’s membership.

Policy, Advocacy, and Communications Committee

NEIA’s Policy, Advocacy, and Communications Committee, through engagement with the association’s membership, drives the development of policy positions relating to the environment and business climate in the interest of green economic growth in Newfoundland and Labrador. The committee sets the strategic direction for the advocacy for these policies at all levels of government, and the communication of these positions with sector stakeholders.

Other Committees

NEIA also has a number of inward-facing Board committees aimed at building the strength and resiliency of the association as an organization. In addition, NEIA’s Board of Directors may strike ad hoc committees where appropriate to address issues or opportunities of a time sensitive or temporary nature.
