Building Climate Resilience Conference and Workshops

When: November 18 – November 20, 2019
Where: Signal Hill, Memorial University Campus & Johnson Geo Centre, St. John’s, NL

There will be a one-day interactive conference November 19 that will build on the Building Climate Resilience Conferences held in March 2018 and April 2019. The event is intended for infrastructure professionals, including engineers, professional planners, as well as other professionals, such as relevant municipal staff and policy practitioners who are working in the area of public infrastructure and interested in learning more about how to build climate change considerations into the design, planning and development of infrastructure to improve resilience.

The conference will be preceeded by a one-day workshop on climate change flood risk mapping on November 18th, and followed by a one-day workshop on using coastal erosion data and coastal geography in land use management practices on November 20th. The events will be held at the Memorial University’s state of art venue at Signal Hill on November 18 and November 19 and the Johnson Geo Centre on November 20th. Delegates can register for all three events or a selection of them.

If you are interested in attending, please register via email (main@pegnl.ca) or call 709-753-7714 ext. 0 by November 8, 2019. Please note which events you wish to attend (up to all three). Also, please include any dietary requirements so we can plan our catering accordingly. There is limited funding available to support travel, so if travel costs are a barrier to participation submit an estimate of your costs by November 1. We will notify participants if we can support these expenses by November 8.
