About the Build in Canada Innovation Program

Companies often have difficulty moving their innovative goods and services from the final stages of research and development into the market. The Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) helps bridge this pre-commercial gap by providing innovators with a successful use of their pre-commercial innovations. The Government of Canada can also become the company’s first reference sale.

Through the BCIP, the Government of Canada buys pre-qualified goods and services. The government moves these late-stage research and development innovations to federal departments for testing. After testing, the BCIP provides feedback to suppliers on the performance of their products or services.
