2nd Call for Preliminary Proposals: Clean Energy for Rural and Remote Communities – Capacity Building Stream

The 2nd Call for Preliminary Proposals under the CERRC Capacity Building Stream is now open with a submission deadline of 23:59 EDT, March 29, 2019.

Preliminary proposals will be reviewed to determine which projects best meet the objectives of the call.

Program Background

This program supports community-level capacity building that will increase clean energy opportunities, including renewables and energy efficiency, and contribute to reducing diesel reliance in rural and/or remote communities. Proposals should relate to one of the following streams and may propose projects over 1 to 5 years starting in 2019/20. They include:

  • Scaling up, modifying or improving curriculum and technical training
    Development and delivery of training for communities that build skills or knowledge.

  • Network development / peer-to-peer learning opportunities
    Connecting community leaders with each other and supporting/developing community networks or initiatives.

  • Community energy planning or community energy literacy
    Development of community energy plans or community energy literacy for rural and remote communities, on a regional basis.

  • Other
    Working on something interesting? Proposals outside of these streams could be accepted provided they relate to the program objective of supporting community-level capacity building that will increase clean energy opportunities, including renewables and energy efficiency, and contribute to reducing reliance on diesel in rural and remote communities.

MORE INFORMATION

Note: Applicants will be asked to describe the participation, engagement, and/or leadership of women and youth in their proposed clean energy activities, which is a priority. Please consider how women and youth may be involved in your project as you apply.
